Your case is important. If it involves a claim of negligent, reckless or intentional conduct which has caused death or permanent injury, a Certified Civil Trial Attorney, with experience handling similar cases, should be chosen to personally handle your matter.
At Targan & Pender, P.C., both partners are Certified Civil Trial Attorneys who work on each case together from intake to trial. The firm has obtained impressive results on behalf of its clients. It has received the highest rating for ethical standards and legal ability. (Martindale-Hubbell AV® peer review rating). New Jersey Monthly Magazine's annual polling of other attorneys has also consistently ranked the firm as among the Top ("Super Lawyers") in the state for medical malpractice and personal injury claims.
Less than two percent of New Jersey attorneys are Certified by the Supreme Court as Civil Trial Attorneys. The Supreme Court established attorney certification in 1980 for the purpose of helping consumers find attorneys who have recognized competence in particular fields of law in an effort "to protect consumers from false advertising and to raise the level of competence of attorneys in this State."
Attorneys may be designated by the Supreme Court as "certified attorneys" only if they: are able to demonstrate sufficient levels of experience, education, knowledge and skill in a specific area of law or practice; have passed a rigorous examination; and have been recognized by their peers and Judges as having skill and reputation in the designated specialty. For more information on the requirements, please go to the Board of Attorney Certification web site.
The types of cases we handle include medical malpractice, auto, truck and bus accidents; casino negligence; defective products; construction accidents; and, unsafe premises. These cases have involved death, brain injury, burns, and other permanent damage.
