The firm was established in 1969 by Donald G. Targan. Mr. Targan was born and raised in Atlantic City and opened the firm after serving as an Assistant United States Attorney for New Jersey for several years.
Michael Pender joined the firm in 1997. He served a clerkship with a Superior Court Judge and has worked as an attorney in Atlantic City since 1994.
The firm includes a medical consultant, investigator and assistants with extensive experience in the field. We commit the care, time and resources necessary to fully represent each client. The firm's success has led to regular requests from other lawyers to handle complex matters, particularly in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability and claims resulting in wrongful death or disabling injury.
The firm has also successfully argued cases before the New Jersey Supreme Court and the Appellate Division. These reported decisions deal with matters such as delayed diagnosis of cancer, surgical errors, and wrongful death. The court decisions remain as part of the law of this state. This work underscores the firm's commitment to advocate for the rights of clients beyond trial.
