For more than two decades, Ms. Weiner has concentrated in the
representation of healthcare providers including hospitals, physicians
and other healthcare professionals, not-for-profit community agencies
and independent practice associations. Ms. Weiner provides a broad
range of corporate services from creating and organization to
handling its contracts andhuman resource issues. She provides
advice on federal and Illinois regulatory requirements, including
HIPAA, Medicare Fraud and Abuse and dealing with the OIG. She
also represents health professionals before the Department of
Professional Regulation. Ms. Weiner is a trained arbitrator and
mediator. Her clients appreciate her “get to the point”
advice. She is the former President of the Illinois Association
of Healthcare Attorneys. She served on the faculty of Northwestern
University Medical School and Chicago Kent Law School. She often
speaks to healthcare professionals on legal issues. She is the
author of two books on Mental Health Law and more than 30 articles
on Health Law issues. Her volunteer activities are devoted to
needy children. She served as the Board President for CASA, an
advocacy organization for abused and neglected children. She has
also served on the Board of Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital. She
is currently a mentor as part of the Daniel Murphy Scholarship
Foundation. She received a B.S. in Business Administration from
the University of Maryland and a J.D. from DePaul University School
of Law, Chicago.
